A.1 Restarting the SOT Service after Failure

If a software issue is encountered, it is possible that the server may stop responding and close. When the SOT Service is stopped, a notification window will appear. You can restart the SOT Service, which handles all SOT executions by right clicking on the SOT icon in the notification area, and selecting “Start Service.” This will restart the service and allow SOT to continue running normally.

If this occurs, please email support@revolutionmining.com and attach the SOTServer.log file, which is accessible by right clicking on the SOT system tray icon, and selecting “Open Log Files.”

A.2 Licensing Errors

There are several different error messages which may appear when a licensing error occurs. When a licensing error does occur, any runs in progress will be halted, until a license can be re-established.

License Initialization Error

A license initialization error may appear if there is an error loading the vendor license library. SOT looks in multiple locations for the vendor’s license library; if the library is not found, an error occurs indicating that the license could not be initialized, followed by an error code if available. Clicking “OK” will terminate the program.

License Acquisition Error

A license acquisition error occurs when a valid license could not be obtained. If you receive this error, ensure that you are able to connect to your license server, and that a valid SOT3 license is available.

There are two circumstances under which this error may occur. If no license is available when the SOT application is opened, an error dialog will appear. Clicking “OK” will terminate the program.

This error may also occur when the SOT application is open, and a license becomes unavailable during use. This may occur due to a dropped internet connection, or a roamed license expiring. In this case, any runs currently in progress will be paused, and a dialog will appear informing you that the license has been lost. When a license is reacquired, the runs will resume and another dialog will inform you that the license has been re-established. It is safe to close the SOT application during this time, as the SOT3 service will continue to run in the background.
