SOT v3 projects are primarily managed from the main SOT window; from there they can be imported, opened, renamed, exported, or deleted. The main SOT window is also where all SOT v3 projects will be listed. SOT v3 projects can also be opened from integrated third party software.

4.1 Opening a SOT v3 Project

4.1.1 Opening a SOT v3 Project from the Main SOT Window

Once created or imported, all SOT v3 projects can be opened from the main SOT window.

To open a SOT v3 project from the main SOT window,

  1. Double click on the desired project in the Existing Projects table.

  1. The selected project will open.

OR

  1. Select a project in the Existing Projects table by clicking on it.
  2. Click the Load Project button.

  3. The selected project will open.

 

4.2 Closing a SOT v3 Project

To return to the main SOT window, any open project must first be closed.

To close an open SOT v3 project,

  1. In the open project click File; select Close Project from the menu options, or Ctrl+Q.


     
  1. The project will close, and you will be brought back to the main SOT window.

 

4.3 Deleting a SOT v3 Project

From the main SOT window, SOT v3 projects can be permanently deleted.

To delete a SOT v3 project from the main SOT window,

  1. Right-click on the project to be deleted in the Existing Projects table; select Delete from the list of options.


     
  2. The project will be permanently deleted.

OR

  1. Select a project in the Existing Projects table by clicking on it.
  2. Click the Delete Project button.

OR

  1. Select a project in the Existing Projects table by clicking on it.
  2. On your keyboard, hit the Delete key.
  3. The project will be permanently deleted.

 

4.4 Renaming a SOT v3 Project

SOT v3 projects can be renamed from the main SOT window.

To rename a SOT v3 project from the main SOT window,

  1. Right-click on a project in the Existing Projects table; select Rename from the list of options.


     
  2. A Rename Project dialog window will open; enter the new name for the SOT project; click OK


     
  3. The new project name will now be displayed in the Existing Projects table.

 

4.5 Exporting a SOT v3 Project

An entire SOT v3 project can be exported as a SOT v3 project file (.s3p). The ability to export and save SOT projects is intended for backing up files, and transferring projects between computers. All project settings, imported data and Execution results are exported when an .s3p file is created.

To export a SOT v3 project from the main SOT window,

  1. Right-click on a project in the Existing Projects table.
  2. Select Export from the list of options.


     
  3. An Export Project dialog window will open; name the project and select a location. Click Save.
  4. The selected SOT project will now begin to export to the selected location.

OR

  1. Select a project in the Existing Projects table by clicking on it.
  2. Click the Export Project button.

To export a SOT v3 project that is open,

  1. In the open project click File; select Export Project from the menu options.

  2. The selected SOT project will now begin to export to the selected location.

The time it takes to export a SOT v3 project is dependent on the size of the project and the number of results saved within it.

 

4.6 Importing a SOT v3 Project

Complete SOT v3 project files (.s3p) can be imported from the main SOT window. All project settings, imported data (used to create the original SOT project) and Execution results are brought in when an .s3p file is imported.

To import a SOT v3 project from the main SOT window,

  1. Click the Import Project button.

  2. An Import Project dialog window will open; select a SOT v3 project (.sp3 file) to import. Click Open.


     
  3. The selected SOT project will now begin to import.


     

The time it takes to import a SOT v3 project is dependent on the size of the project and the number of saved results in the project.
